by Belinda Mooney October 2, 2000 So far in our Let's Study Explorer Unit we have gathered the basics and started our notebooks. We started out by studying Marco Polo. Now we continue with : Marco Polo Pt 3 Marco learned about many things he had never seen or heard of before while on these travels. He was amazed at the "black stones" the Chinese burnt for fuel. Europe had never heard of coal. Europe also did not have paper money at this time but the Chinese did. And while European monks and scribes were laboriously handwriting books the Chinese were printing theirs! Add
Cathay (China) to your map.Marco learned about many things he had never

were printing theirs! Add Cathay (China) to your map. Fill out an information
sheet on China.
Make
a box kite. Kite flying is a favorite pastime in China.<
Add Mongolia to your map and fill out an information sheet. Mark the area on your map that was ruled by the Mongols when Marco Polo was there. Have a feast in honor of Marco Polo and Kublai Khan. To learn more about China study Admiral Zen He. He is next on our list. If
you missed the other parts find them here!
And
if you missed the worksheets here they are!
