Snack Time

Healthy snacks are easy to pick, pack and munch. Start the youngsters off on the right foot by making them available at all times.  The recommended food guides suggest 5 - 10 servings a day. This really is not as hard as it seems when you keep in mind that fruits and vegetables are interchangeable and that portions/servings are not that large. e.g. 1 small box of raisins or only half a cup (4 oz) of juice are a single portion each. Choices will depend on in season availability and what you have on hand in the pantry.
